Do Those Sites About Blogging Really Work?
I come across so many sites that promise to teach you how to blog and make money doing so. They promise to teach you how to make a living off blogging within 6 months, however they either all teach you exactly the same or sneak in spam or a charge along the way. But the real question is of course-do they work?
In my experience of reading and following their advice, I can honestly say that they have made either little to no impact on my blogging skills. Using social media(other than twitter) does you no good if you have a small number of friends. Using sites like Entrecard is no good and so many of their other tips aren’t good either.
Sure, they might work for you if you are Bill Gates or you have already mass following. But the average blogger does not and they also do not have the time or money as they do. So what can a new blogger learn from them?
Nothing.
Most of my blogging skills were self taught or learned. Sure, I’ve made blogging mistakes and failed at a few attempts. But hey, I am only human after all! But what I know now, is that blogging takes time and effort. Nobody will make a million dollars a year by blogging in their first year(most don’t ever make a million anyhow). But you can make enough money to live on via blogging.
My goal is to of course make enough money to live on by blogging(though I also do freelance writing…which helps). But I think I can show the average blogger how to start being a successful blogger without selling them stuff or lying to them.
My next post will go more into detail on what I mean. Stay tuned for more info.

I’m just happy to find that there are people out their who are learning how to blog on their own (myself included). I always feel like everyone knows what to do when it comes to blogging except me. I’m still learning and hopefully I’ll become better at it.

Yes, I started out also via blogging(self-taught) and writing for a few content farms to get some credits to my name. Now I also blog for others(as well as write articles), much like you said.
I think that it’s best tolearn what works for yourselfnot for what works for someone else. Cause they all cannot work for everybody.

I am self-taught on the blogging end. I wouldn’t pay someone to “teach” me to blog with the promise that I’d make money doing it. The blog helped me with my writing only from the standpoint that I had a sample to send to editors for review. Once established of course, blogging for others and getting paid for it is highly possible.

Yes you are right! But to my knowledge, only few of them(Eg. Yero Stork, Diren Rose(mispelled on purpose)) sell their ideas and I hardly know anyone earning a million bucks who referred their guides. Some get close to $1000, but not more than that.
Nice post!
